Ingredients and seasonings must exist for prepare
- Prepare for Marination -
- Take 500 gms Chicken washed
- Prepare 700 grams Chicken
- Prepare 3 potatoes cut into 4 pieces
- Prepare 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- Prepare 3 chopped onions
- Prepare 1/3 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Take 2 chopped tomatoes
- Prepare 1 tsp Salt
- Prepare 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
- Use for Gravy -
- Prepare 5-6 Medium Potatoes
- Prepare 4-5 tbsp Mustard Oil
- Use 2 Bay Leaves
- Prepare 2 Black Cardamoms
- Take 1 Cinnamon Stick
- Prepare 2 Dry Red Chilli
- Prepare 2 Green Cardamoms
- Prepare 6-7 Onions - Sliced
- Prepare 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- Prepare 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- Use 1 tsp Cumin Powder
- Use 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- Prepare 1/3 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Use to Taste Salt
- Prepare 2 Tomatoes - Finely Chopped
- Take 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- Prepare 1 tsp Garam Masala
- Take as required Coriander Leaves to Garnish
When sugar turns golden brown, add onions & saute it till the colour of onions turns to golden brown. Once the chicken is properly cooked and the gravy is rich, add the remaining Kasuri methi and chopped coriander and mix again. Water Directions Heat mustard oil in a pan and add the red chilli, bay leaf,cinnamon,cardamom,cloves,mace,chopped onions & ginger garlic paste. Fry for some time until the onion turns light brown.
Instructions to make Odia style chicken curry!:
- Wash and chop potatoes into four parts each. Heat oil in a pan & shallow fry potatoes. Keep aside.
- In the same oil, add green cardamoms, black cardamoms, cinnamom, dry chilli, cumin seeds & bay leaves. Saute for few seconds at low flame.
- Add sliced onions & saute at high to medium flame till turn golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste & cook for another 3 minutes.
- Add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt & red chilli powder. Mix well & cook for 1 minute.
- Add tomatoes & cook at low flame for 4-5 minutes.
- Add chicekn & mix properly. Switch the flame to low & cook chicekn upto 70% with a closed lid. This should take 20-25 mints.
- Add potatoes & cook for another 5 mints at low flame.
- Add 3 cups of water & cook for 10 mints with a covered lid.
- Add garam masala & cook for another 5 mints.
- Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot with rice or chapatis.
- Done and ready to serve!
Then add red chilli paste,coriander seeds paste,turmeric powder,salt and the chicken. Cook on low heat for sometime. Heat a kadai with oil, add onions. saute well. When the onions start turning colour, add the curry leaves and fennel seeds. When the onions are turning colour, add the drained chicken, and cook on high.
